03 / NADINE & VINNY

An elopement at Lago di Braies & Tre Cime.

A storm moved their wedding back by a day. After a first look at Skyview Chalets and a walk beside Lago di Braies, we found a way up to Tre Cime for their vows. Fog eventually put the Cadini di Misurina viewpoint out of reach.

The film shows why a little flexibility matters more than getting to every stop on the itinerary.

FIND THE SETTING FOR YOUR DAY

Where to elope
in the Dolomites.

A lakeside ceremony, a mountain walk or a venue with room for family. Compare the settings below and the practical details that shape the day.

01

Tre Cime di Lavaredo

For a hike, personal vows and time away from the main viewpoint

Tre Cime is one of the most visited parts of the Dolomites, but the experience changes with the time of day and the route. Away from the main viewpoint, quieter spots can give you room for personal vows and a hike together.

How we’d approach it: Choose the walking route and timing together, rather than planning only around the famous viewpoint. We can help you think through a quieter setting, without promising that a public place will be empty. For access via the Rifugio Auronzo road, check the current parking or shuttle reservation system.

02

Lago di Braies · Pragser Wildsee

For an early private dock session, booked in advance

The public lakeshore and a reserved private dock offer very different experiences. With a private slot, you have a dedicated space and time for the two of you, instead of fitting photographs around other visitors.

Our recommendation: If the dock is the setting you want, book La Palafitta’s Private Shooting option in advance and confirm the current slot and conditions. It offers exclusive boathouse access before public opening; it does not make the whole lake private. We’d settle that booking before building the rest of the morning around it.

03

Alpe di Siusi · Seiser Alm

For open meadows and a gentler visual setting

Alpe di Siusi’s open meadows offer a softer setting than the rocky landscapes around Tre Cime. It suits a day with mountain views, time to walk together and photographs that give you room in the landscape.

Before choosing it: Private-car access is restricted during lift operation, and parking reservations may be required. A parking booking does not remove road access restrictions. Confirm the current rules and return arrangements.

04

Passo Gardena · Grödnerjoch

For couples based around Colfosco or Val Gardena

Between the Sella massif and the Cir peaks, Passo Gardena works naturally with a stay around Colfosco or Val Gardena. The specific portrait area and access plan help determine the best time to be there.

05

Cinque Torri

For a mountain setting with several ways to approach it

Cinque Torri is an option for a day that includes a mountain walk and photographs among distinctive rock formations. Choose the walking approach and the time you want to spend there together, rather than building the day around a single viewpoint.

Before choosing it: There are different walking approaches, as well as a chairlift from Bai de Dones towards Rifugio Scoiattoli. Choose the actual route and check operating dates before deciding how long the session needs. A lift-assisted plan and a hiking day are different experiences.

Colfosco · Kolfuschgerhof

For an intimate wedding with family and a venue base

This is where one of the weddings on this page began. A venue-based ceremony and celebration gave the couple time with their family, followed by a separate mountain session the next day.

A DIFFERENT WAY INTO THE MOUNTAINS

A helicopter elopement
in the Dolomites.

A helicopter can take us to an approved, secluded mountain landing spot away from the usual viewpoints. The flight gives you another perspective on the Dolomites; once we land, there is time for a photo session with the landscape around you and far fewer distractions.

For couples who value that privacy, the flight and the time at the landing spot can be well worth making part of the day. It is an experience in itself, with photographs and film to bring home afterwards.

It also works well alongside a micro wedding. Spend one day on your ceremony and time with family, then set aside a second day for a helicopter trip and portraits together. The featured Kolfuschgerhof wedding followed that approach.

AN EXAMPLE, NOT A FIXED ITINERARY

A Lago di Braies
elopement itinerary

An early ceremony at Lago di Braies, a relaxed lunch and time in the mountains later on. This is a full-day outline; we’ll agree the coverage and timings around your date and plans.

  1. EARLY MORNING

Getting ready & a first look

Start close to the lake, with time to get ready, see each other and reach the boathouse before your private slot begins.

  2. 06:30–08:00

A private ceremony on the dock

A summer example based on La Palafitta’s published 2026 timetable: private boathouse access before public opening, with room for personal vows and photographs by the water. The confirmed slot depends on your date and the operator’s current schedule.

  3. LATE MORNING

    Breakfast and a slower start

After the ceremony, have breakfast, take a walk beside the lake or return to your accommodation. There is no need to rush straight into another transfer.

  4. MIDDAY

    Lunch together

Make time for a proper meal before the mountain part of the day. You can keep it just the two of you or meet up with the people joining your celebration.

  5. AFTERNOON

    A hike and mountain portraits

Choose one mountain area and leave time for the journey, walking and photographs. We can shape the route around the light, weather and the amount of hiking you enjoy.

  6. EVENING

    Dinner and time to celebrate

Finish with dinner, a toast and time together. A day from early preparations through an evening meal may need a tailored coverage plan; we’ll settle that with you before booking.

When to plan
your Dolomites elopement.

Pick the kind of day first. A high-mountain walk and a venue-based winter wedding need different plans. These are planning trade-offs, not promises about the weather.

Late spring & early summer

Check snow conditions on the exact route and whether lifts are operating. A green valley does not establish the condition of a higher trail. Keep a lower-altitude portrait option in mind.

Summer

Useful for a day that includes mountain time, subject to the route and lift schedule. Allow for busy access points, parking reservations and weather changes. Don’t fill every hour with a different location.

Autumn

Compare your date with lift closing dates and the amount of daylight you need for your chosen route. Keep time for the return journey; late-season access can be very different from summer.

Winter

Build a winter plan around a suitable venue and confirmed access. Don’t reuse a summer hiking itinerary. Accommodation, clothing, transport and the portrait setting all need to fit the conditions.

For Seceda specifically, use the lift operator’s current timetable and Val Gardena’s seasonal advice when choosing a date.

BEFORE YOU WRITE

Questions about
your Dolomites elopement.

Do you offer photography, film, or both?

All three options are available. When you choose photography and film, you get us as a husband-and-wife team, already used to working together. We plan both together, so you don’t need to find and coordinate two separate suppliers.

How much time do we have together?

The standard packages include 12 hours of coverage. We can use that time for your ceremony, moments with family and a separate part of the day in the mountains. If your plans span more than one day, tell us what you have in mind and we’ll put together a tailored offer.

Is the package price final?

Yes. Your agreed package price is final, with our travel included and no additional fees added to your photography or film package.

Will we need to pose all day?

No. Most of the time we follow what is happening. For portraits, we give you simple guidance where it helps, then leave room for you to move and spend time together.

We’re still choosing a date and location. Can we get in touch?

Yes. Share your approximate dates, the kind of day you want and anything you have already booked. You don’t need a finished itinerary before writing to me.

Can we find a quiet place for our vows and photographs?

Nobody can guarantee an empty public viewpoint. But knowing the area makes a real difference: the right time of day, a different path or a few minutes away from the main stop can change the experience. Often we can find a spot with very few people around, or choose a frame that keeps the focus entirely on you.

What if the weather changes our plans?

We’ll talk it through and adjust the plan together. We’re flexible about the timing and location of the portrait session, so we can work with the conditions rather than force the original itinerary. If our schedule allows, we can also discuss moving the session to another day.
