Madelaine and Nicolas traveled all the way from Canada to exchange their vows in the raw, untamed beauty of Iceland.
We began the day with getting ready and a private first look near the iconic black church of Budakirkja. The overcast skies and soft wind created a quiet, intimate atmosphere — just the two of them, fully present in the moment.
From there, we continued to Grundarfoss — a powerful, lesser-known waterfall tucked away in the heart of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula. It was there, in complete solitude, that Madelaine and Nicolas shared their vows. The roar of the water and the surrounding cliffs made the moment feel timeless.
As we made our way back from the waterfall, something magical happened — a herd of wild Icelandic horses approached us, as if drawn to the energy of the day. It felt surreal, like nature itself was celebrating with us.
We wrapped up the session with a portrait series near the base of Grundarfoss, with the majestic Kirkjufell mountain rising in the distance. A perfect ending to a deeply meaningful day in one of the world’s most breathtaking landscapes.
